A 5 day Turkey & Tinsel break to Blackpool, with visits to Fleetwood and Southport
Blackpool is a historic seaside resort located on the English coast. It’s well known for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, an old-fashioned amusement park with vintage wooden roller coasters. The landmark Blackpool Tower was built in 1894 and features a circus, glass viewing platform, and the Tower Ballroom where dancers twirl to music playing from a Wurlitzer organ. Every year, Blackpool plays host to Blackpool Illuminations light show along the Promenade.
Blackpool in known for its abundant water activities, ranging from swimming in the Irish Sea to sailing, surfing and kiteboarding. There is also a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants along the Golden Mile Promenade. Other attractions include Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, Sandcastle Waterpark and Stanley Park with its boating lake, gardens and beautiful Edwardian-style conservatory.
Blackpool also has a wealth of cultural attractions including the Blackpool Grand Theatre, Opera House and Winter Gardens. The city is home to a vast range of festivals and events throughout the year such as the annual Air Show, Illuminations Switch On event and World Fireworks Championship.
Those looking to enjoy the seaside but take it a bit slower can visit one of Blackpool’s many parks including Stanley Park, Bispham Hall and Gynn Square. With plenty to see and do, there is something for everyone in Blackpool! From relaxing on the iconic beachfront to exploring the sights.
DAY 1
We depart West Wales in the morning and make our way to Blackpool. Suitable comfort stops will be made en-route.
We will have a sparkling wine reception with mince pies. In the evening, we will have a Christmas Eve Gala Dinner.
DAY 2
Half day tour to Fleetwood. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. This evening we have a Christmas Day Gala Dinner and a visit from Santa.
B, DDAY 3
Today, we visit Southport and return to the hotel in the afternoon for live entertainment between 2-4 p.m.
In the evening, we have a Boxing Day "A Taste of Lancashire" themed dinner.
DAY 4
A free day in Blackpool. This evening we will have a New Year's Eve themed banquet dinner
B, DDAY 5
We depart Blackpool after breakfast and make our way back home to West Wales.
Suitable comfort stops will be made en-route.
